At the
PKR.com
website, they have a section called Poker School.
I came across this the other day while browsing the
site, and it is a very nice feature. This
article will go through all the aspects of their
poker school, and let you know if it is worth your
time or not.
The strategy is organized into beginner,
intermediate, advanced, courses, and glossary.
The beginner section includes five articles
including topics such as game selection, starting
hand selection, hand rankings, and betting
structure. These topics are for new players
who are looking to understand the game and learn a
few tips so they can play online.
The intermediate section has some more complex
strategy, and includes topics like playing pocket
pairs, the importance of position in poker, playing
the flop, bankroll and tilt management, calculating
odds, sit and go strategy, and Omaha poker strategy.
All in all, there are seven intermediate strategy
articles, and these will get the amateur player up
to speed to play at some higher limit tables.
The advances strategy section has another seven
articles, and is for the intermediate player who is
looking to step their game way up. The topics
include classifying your opponents, bluffing, heads
up play, pot odds, advanced bankroll management,
multi table tournament strategy, and other concepts.
The PKR courses can be delivered right to your
email inbox every week, but aren't quite ready yet.
The glossary contains poker terms so you can
understand table chat.
The PKR poker school is a great free resource for
players who want to improve their game across the
board. I highly recommend checking it out.
