PKR Player Ranking System

PKR has added a little more fun competition to their site through the use of a tournament/sit n go ranking system. Players can finally see how they match up against the other users of PKR when it comes to poker skills. Here come some more bragging rights for PKR players!

How the system works is that you earn ranking points when you play a tournament or a sit and go. It calculates the amount of points you receive depending on the buy-in of the tournament (the higher the better), how many entrants there were, how recent the tournament was, and your final position.

However, it's not just that simple. There's a lengthy formula that's used for actually calculating the points you earn, but the factors above are what contribute to the final number. The same formula is used for MTT's and SNG's, however, the rankings are separated into MTT players and SNG players.

Besides just bragging rights, holding a high ranking also pays off in other ways. The first way is the best: cash. If you're one of the top 5 players in either the MTT rankings or the SNG rankings you'll receive a cool cash bonus, ranging from $50-$500.

Also, each month at PKR there are some huge Grand Slam tournaments that are exclusively for the best finishers in the PKR player rankings system. It really pays to be a sharp MTT or SNG player when you play at PKR.
